I see you are based at Benton near Redding. We have an active group of short wing owners in the Portland Oregon area and get together every Thursday after work for "Hangar Night" So if you are ever near the Hillsboro Oregon airport KHIO come over to the Northeast T hangars and say hello.
You might consider finding some shortwing owners down there and do a similar get together. We also have a group up in the Seattle area that are also connected to the Columbia River Chapter of the SWPC and they host a get together at the Arlington Fly In every year.
