am installing a new panel & would like to have a wood overlay -- my avionics shop is having trouble getting any info about this -- would appreciate any info members might have

My panel has a black walnut veneer installed by the previous owner. I'm sure it looked good at one time, but time, heat and humidity has not been too kind to it.
I used to know a guy that built show cars, he used to paint trim pieces in a woodgrain technique that was VERY convincing and beautiful.(I've made a living with finished wood for over 20 years) If I was stone set on wood I'd look into this procedure.

these guys are always at oshkosh and their stuff is gorgeous i have no clue if it lasts but i would hope so and they will silk screen the lettering on the stuff for you www.aeroenhancements.com oooh the carpathian elm burl is sweeeeet
