View Full Version : Fuel Quantity Sending Unit

Hello every one. Does anyone know the resistance values for the fuel qty. sending unit? How smooth is the resistance change from full to empty when reading with a digital meter (Fluke 12). Mine read 1 ohm-to 35 omh and very rough in transit, but stable when not in motion. Am I normal?
Thanks in advance

:) Everyone that knows Andy Anderson's excellent site at
http://home.earthlink.net/~andy2220/id4.html can answer this one. Click on the link, scroll down the center column to Fuel Sender Check & Repair ( txt - 2k) (http://home.earthlink.net/%7Eandy2220/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/fuelsenderchecknrepair.txt)
(6 up from the bottom). There you will find the resistance values. I have never checked one but would ASSume the transition from full to empty should be smooth.

Never ask if you are normal, big mistake!

The sending unit should read zero ohms empty and 30 ohms full.

Go to the top of this page and click on SEARCH. Then type in SENDING UNIT and you will find many previous questions and answers about the fuel gages.
