Default Pictures of us and our planes

    Hi Gang,
I am wired in a funny way (ask anyone who knows me!), I like to put a face to the name.
I'll start with a pic of me with my 55 PA22-150, "One For Papa"

How do you post a picture if you don't have a web page? When I tried to post one, it asked for the URL.

    Thanks

Here is my baby, 14D "Clipper/Pacer" above the Cascade Foothills.

Gilbert, who is frantically running away from your plane?

Nice photo of your great machine Stephen.

Have you ever thought of painting the stays in front of you near the windscreen (nice flat winscreen ) flat black? In brighter light the white tends to reflect and effect your vision, with them black you tend not to notice them.

Glen, good idea. I must confess I had not noticed them in flight. But, I'm the type of person who never even cleans my reading glasses and thinks that it's just getting dark.

Let's see; I've got to repalce my skylight today, replace rudder pedals tomorrow, annual next week, replace T&B with turn coordinator next, repain my wings and cowl.......then I'll paint the stays. 6 more weeks till retirement, then I'll have time!

That's me chasing down the photographer from Plane and Pilot who left his flash unit in my airplane. He took my picture while I was chasing him.

It would have been a better picture if my mug was not cluttering it up.

I'm not too sure I have this figured out. If the picture posts then I guess I did it right.

Default How to post a pitchur:

OK, several folks are challenged with posting a pic, I assume you have a digital camera and load purty pitchurs on your computer, so here's how the site works (if you still have trouble find a middle schooler, they do this all the time!):
    1) Find a purty pitchur of you with your plane.
    2) Open the pitchur in photo editor or paint, and use the resize tool to resize it so it's about the size of a postcard, approx 4x5" on your screen. Edit the image, not the window! The picture should now be <100Kb in size to allow it to post on the forum.
    3) Save as "name and n number", ie, "Larry and 47Bravo", only your name and your plane's N-number. Save it as a .jpg (file type).
    4) Click "Post Reply" at left of forum page (not the usual "Post Quick Reply" at bottom) and write your life story, then in the Additional Options section below your life story, click "Manage Attachments", "Browse", and select the image file you made in step 3. It will all make sense as you follow the guide.
    5) Check all your spelling is good, then click "Submit Reply" -- I don't know if the pic shows in "Preview Post" so don't bother.
    6) Admire your purty pitchur on the internets!

This is my Tri Pacer that I have just finished an extensive 19 month restoration of. No, the picture is not flipped. One of the many mods that I did was adding a door on the left side. What a difference that makes. You can see all of my pictures from start to finish at my FaceBook page: rlsmith3@earthlink.net.

Wow, cool! So nice to see these being restored and updated like this. Now show us a pic in flight with the Attitude Indicator in that position!

Wow! What a looker! I love the left-hand door. That is probably tops on the list of mods I wish I had. And the "Rams Horn" style yokes look really nice. I'm curious about the rotary dimmers on the left side of the panel. Interior lighting? Were they field approved and where did you source them from? They look great!

Here's an update on a picture of my plane.

Taking by a friend "Devon Lund". He is a pro-photographer.

This shot was taken last fall. I also included a picture of John Atkin's C-170.

Frank, great looking bird. My H.S. senior loves the blue. Probably wishes I did mine in blue instead of red.

Mine's a conscientious bird. She likes to keep her nose to the grind stone instead of up in the air. Besides, she's not too good for anyone! Also, she dressed up in her Sunday best to have her picture taken .

Stephan, I can't take credit for Glenn's idea but I would go one further, I wrapped my cabane struts in lace-on vinyl steering wheel covers, they don't roast the meat off your hand on a hot day and look real swanky.

I tried to upload a pic, but the system tells me that it isn't allowed. Don't know where to go from here. Says: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/shortwing.org/httpdocs/forum/attachments/e3bc537881706eb5866ee964c90a56eb) is not within the allowed path(s):

The pic size is 4X3.something and 34.5 KB in size. If anyone has any advice, I'll give it another try.
